Visit Manitoba 50 Years Ago

A virtual journey through Manitoba (and some of Ontario) from 1964-1978

For some it was a lifetime ago, for others it was before your time. Either way you are sure to enjoy this virtual trip across Manitoba (and some of Ontario!).

Former Nature Manitoba president, John Jack, and his wife, Ella, were avid naturalists and outdoor enthusiasts. They led many trips and educational programs for Nature Manitoba, and took many folks out on their own time as well.

Lucky for us, John Jack was also a great photographer! Nature Manitoba has now made his collection of slide photography from 1964-1978 accessible online. We hope you'll take a peek and see (or reminisce about) what it was like to hike, paddle, and camp in Manitoba's natural spaces 50 years ago, plus see some faces of former NM members and Manitoba naturalists. Sit down with a hot beverage and enjoy!
