Kevin & Anita Miller -- register at k.a.miller@mts.net   19 people have registered as of September 1 morning.

Launch location: Launch from the park on the south side of Avenue de l’Eglise in St Norbert, just east of Pembina Hwy. Parking is on the south side of the street, and also on Rue des Trappistes (west of Pembina Hwy.

Time: Meet at 9:30 AM. Launch at 10:00.

Description: Paddle upstream to the dam at La Barriere Park, then downstream back to the launch point, and optionally further down stream towards the Red River and back. The La Salle River watershed received significant rainfall on August 21 (95 mm to 100 mm at Sanford and Portage la Praire), so we are expecting a good water level.

Distance: The distance from the launch point to the La Barriere Park dam is ~8K, so the return distance is ~16K. It is possible to turn around prior to reaching La Barriere Park.

Lunch: We will stop for lunch at an appropriate location at an appropriate time.

Boats: If you don’t have a canoe or kayak, we can try to partner you with a canoe owner who is looking for a bow paddler.

Mandatory safety equipment for all Grey Hares paddling activities:
• A Personal Floatation Device (PFD).
• A sound signalling device (AKA "whistle").
• A bailer.
• A buoyant heaving line (AKA "rope") at least 15 metres long.
• Extra warm clothes.
A sponge is a good idea (especially for a kayak) because it helps you completely drain your boat.

Stop Aquatic Invasive Species

Rating: Novice (bow paddler in the canoe of an experienced stern paddler) to intermediate.

Bring: Lunch, water, your name tag.
